Evolution and ecology also deserve consistent attention. Natural selection, adaptation, population change, and relationships among organisms can appear in passages that test both foundational knowledge and scientific reasoning.

Use Biochemistry to Strengthen Biology

Biology and biochemistry overlap heavily on the MCAT. If metabolism feels like a separate subject, connecting it to physiology can improve retention. For example, relate glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation to exercise, fasting, oxygen availability, and hormone signaling.

You do not need to treat every pathway as a memorization contest. Know the purpose of the pathway, its location, key regulatory steps, major inputs and products, and the conditions that increase or decrease its activity.
