You may discover that you miss experimental design questions when variables are described indirectly, or that you lose points in CARS by selecting answers that are too broad. Those are actionable findings.

5. Leaving CARS until the final weeks

CARS is different from the science sections. Memorizing more facts will not solve a passage reasoning problem, and there is no single content chapter that guarantees improvement. Students often delay CARS because it feels less straightforward than reviewing biochemistry or psychology terms. That delay can be costly.

Start CARS practice early and make it consistent. A few passages several days each week are usually more helpful than an occasional marathon. Focus on choosing answers supported by the author’s argument and the passage as a whole, not answers that sound intelligent or align with your outside knowledge.

If timing is a problem, do not immediately force yourself to read faster. First determine whether you are spending too long reading, rereading without a purpose, or debating between answer choices. Speed tends to improve when your reasoning becomes more decisive.
